Barbara Taber Is Not Backing Down

Inside the political commentator's unfiltered take on Trump's return, the next chapter of her hit show, and the "living book" she says will outlast any news cycle.

SUFFOLK, VA, August 28, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- It's a hot August afternoon in Suffolk, Virginia, and Dr. Barbara Taber is, as always, working. Not in the easy, lean-back way that television pundits sometimes "work"—this is the kind of work that leaves stacks of annotated research, multiple screens buzzing with news feeds, and half-drunk coffee gone cold on the desk. All of this comes between her other commitments as a community fixture, whether she's selling flowers, snapping photos, or joining a local protest picket line.

Today, however, she's preparing for the next episode of her show, Take It Or Leave It: Dr. Barbara Taber Speaks, and it's not just another episode. This one, Lesson 13: "He's Baaaack!", is about the 45th and 47th President of the United States—Donald J. Trump—and his controversial return to power.

She leans forward as we begin, voice even but eyes lit with intensity.

"This isn't the comeback story people think it is," she says. "And if you think we're in for a repeat of 2017, you're dreaming. This is something else entirely. Look around!"

Then, with a smirk:
"If he wants to be king, then let's treat him like George III."

There's no irony in her tone. Dr. Taber is not here to play nice. She's here to issue a warning—one rooted in decades of civic awareness, hard-nosed pragmatism, and a genuine concern for the American people. She speaks like someone who's read every word of the bill and stood in the rain protesting it. Because she has."

We sat down with Dr. Taber to talk Trump, Democrats, legacy, and why her late-2025 output might be the most important yet.

TSR News Group: What's the biggest misconception people have right now about Trump being back in office?

Dr. Barbara Taber: That it's all going to be the same chaos from before. That's lazy thinking. He learned from his first term. He's surrounding himself with people who won't challenge him. People need to understand—we're dealing with a more calculated version of the same man. And that makes him more dangerous, not less.

TSR: What about the left? Are Democrats doing enough?

Dr. Taber: No. Not even close. Democrats are playing like it's still 2008. Like they'll get another Obama to rally the base and inspire the youth. They won't. And they haven't adapted. There's too much posturing, too much messaging—and not enough action. You can't out-celebrity this guy. You need to out-organize him. Out-educate. Out-work. That's the only way. That being said, after his latest ploy to steal elections, the democrats and more specifically Gavin Newsom, have started punching back. Let's see if that works. For now, Governor Newsom is living rent free in Trump's head! Also, a republican congressman, Kevin Kiley of California, is trying to submit a bill that would ban all mid-decade redistricting. On further read, it is not so altruistic but would ban what Texas is doing to rig elections at the request of Trump.

TSR: Your show, Take It Or Leave It, has been steadily gaining traction since 2019, with 20 individual episodes, multiple podcasts, and 12 overall "lessons". What makes Lesson 13 different?

Dr. Taber: It's less about politics and more about the moment. I've spent over a year laying groundwork—lessons about accountability, responsibility, character, history. Now we've reached the inflection point. This episode is about waking people up. I call it a "lesson" for a reason. This isn't infotainment. It's civic education, plain and simple. If you're entertained, that's great — but it's not the purpose of what we're doing. And some folks aren't going to like what they hear.

TSR: What's your message to those who've tuned out—who feel like the system's too broken?

Dr. Taber: Get over it. We don't have time for defeatism. I understand the frustration, believe me. But this isn't the moment to sulk or stay on the sidelines. If you're waiting for the perfect candidate or the perfect solution, you'll be waiting forever. Start where you are, with what you have—and do something. Anything. Just don't sit there pretending your cynicism is a moral stance. It's not. It's surrender. We are finding out that push-back in Trump's policies works. The courts are too slow and he is stacking them with out the advice and consent of the senate and in defiance of federal courts. However, when the population starts pushing back and becomes vocal, Trump folds like a cheap deck of cards! TACO! Call and write your congressional representatives. I don't care if they are all democrats, push them and light a fire under their tuchus! Don't participate in a Bermuda Triangle Disaster Plan! (When in danger, fear, or doubt; Run in circles, scream and shout; BOHICA!) Stand Up and Speak Up! Join local and national protest groups and participate!

TSR: What drives you to keep doing this?

Dr. Taber: I don't do it for views or followers. I do it because I care about this country, and I've watched too many good people give up. If my voice can shake a few of them out of complacency, it's worth it. And if I pick up fans along the way, even better. If you have read a real history book, then you have seen every Trump move before! I do this because I have read those tomes and I see, clearly, where we are heading! Thirty three percent of the country is not the majority of this country's voting population! Get up and on your feet and VOTE! We are heading down the path to total destruction of our democratic republic. We got to this point because too many freethinkers sat out the last election. I reserve my opinion on just why they didn't vote but, we are here and now we need to fight and make good trouble so we can hang on to our freedoms!

TSR: For a few years now, you've been releasing a digital autobiography under the same title as your show, Take It Or Leave It — this time with the subtitle, "Renaissance Woman with a Threadbare Filter." Some are calling it a "living book." What does that actually mean?

Dr. Taber: It means it's not static. This isn't some hardcover collecting dust — it's evolving, just like I am. I'm documenting my life from the beginning, but memories shift, context deepens, and new insights come with time. I didn't want to be boxed into a final draft. This is a living record — active, adaptable, and rooted in truth. Unlike the show, which focuses on current events, this book is deeply personal. It's about where I come from, what shaped me, and how I became the woman behind the microphone. Politics will show up, of course, but they're not the point. The point is legacy — one entry at a time.

It might feel like Dr. Barbara Taber has been unusually quiet since the 2024 election — but don't mistake restraint for retreat. She and her team have been staging a strategic onslaught of content behind the scenes, all while keeping a close, uncompromising eye on the current administration's every move. With Lesson 13: He's Baaaack! set to drop tomorrow (August 29), two new chapters of her digital autobiography on the way, and a surging companion podcast already generating buzz, the final two quarters of 2025 are shaping up to be her most impactful yet.

Dr. Barbara Taber doesn't care if her message makes you squirm. She only cares that it's heard. In a media age drowning in polish, filters, and feedback loops, hers is a voice that still dares to cut through. With conviction. With clarity. With fire.

If you haven't started listening, now's the time.
