Azumo, Inc., Ubiqconn Technology, Inc., and E3 Displays, LLC today announced they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to launch a strategic partnership that will bring an “on-shore” display module assembly option for Azumo’s low-power reflective LCD displays to U.S. and North American customers. Under the agreement, E3 Displays, recently acquired by Ubiqconn, will become Azumo’s primary North American contract manufacturer for front-lit reflective LCD modules and other industrial, defense, and specialty displays. This collaboration aims to expand assembly capabilities, support U.S.-based manufacturing initiatives, and provide customers with a tariff-conscious supply chain option for their specialty display needs.
Key Benefits and Partnership Highlights:
- On-Shore Assembly in Arizona: E3 Displays’ Phoenix facility will provide assembly, bonding, testing, final QA and drop-shipment services for Azumo’s low-power, front-lit, reflective LCD display modules, reducing transit times and mitigating tariff exposure.
- Flexible Global Supply Chain Options: Azumo will continue to produce their proprietary optical films in its factories, supplying Ubiqconn and E3 Displays with raw and semi-finished materials, or, where preferred by customers, facilitating direct procurement through Ubiqconn/E3 Displays. For customers outside the U.S., Azumo’s existing display module assembly partners in Asia will continue to assemble their low-power reflective display modules.
- Joint Go-to-Market and Co-Branding: All three companies will co-develop sales campaigns, marketing materials and participate in industry trade shows, leveraging Ubiqconn’s established channel relationships across industrial, marine, defense, avionics and medical markets.
Supporting U.S. Manufacturing
This partnership aligns with growing customer demand for secure, low-power display solutions built within North America. By combining Azumo’s low-power enabled reflective display technology, Ubiqconn’s systems integration capabilities and E3 Displays’ U.S. assembly footprint, the three companies will deliver high-performance modules that meet stringent industrial and defense specifications—all while boosting domestic manufacturing capacity and minimizing potential tariff risks.
“U.S. customers deserve both cutting-edge display performance and supply-chain resilience,” said Mike Casper, CEO of Azumo. “By forging this new partnership we’re creating an on-shore assembly option that combines our optical film innovation with U.S.-based final assembly.”
“We’re thrilled to team up with Azumo and E3 Displays to accelerate next-generation reflective LCD adoption in North America,” added Tim Tsai, Chairman of Ubiqconn North America. “Our shared vision is to expand ultra-low-power, high-durability displays to industrial, defense and specialty markets.”
“E3 Displays is proud to support this partnership and to further our advanced technology manufacturing capabilities in the U.S.,” said Chuck Rahrig, President of E3 Displays.
