Insights on Innovation's first foreign-based feature film will be released on August 13, 2024, in the US and Canada. The thrilling action/thriller-love tragedy movie is set along the Mediterranean coast from France to Spain and tells the story of a man who wants to change his life after a long, dark past. He meets a woman who is willing to help and they embark on a thrilling adventure that puts them on the brink of each other’s patience and determination.

The movie, to be released through Gravitas Ventures and MPX, has been honored with six festival awards, including the Best Picture Award 2023 by the Golden Reel Awards, the Official Selection for the Paris Lift-Off Film Festival 2023, and the Official Selection of the Cine Paris Film Festival 2023. It already has an Apple TV promo and an official teaser on the Insights on Innovation website.
As seen in its teaser, "A man is running from his past. He wants a new life. He needs a new meaning. Finally, something is changing. A girl willing to help. Are diamonds more important than love?"
The movie, directed and co-written by John Chua, features Julie Dray, Daniel Lundh, and Vassilis Koulalani. Though some people may confuse the film with the 2010 movie of the same name, the 2024 movie is set in France and covers a man’s torturous road to redemption and love. Interwoven with plenty of action scenes, the movie also depicts his attempts to find love again.
Yana Hashamova, Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor, Ohio State University, said the movie is, “a cinematic travelogue, which records the journey of two characters from Marseille to Barcelona, the film engages the viewer with surprising twists and turns of a criminal plot and with suspenseful editing. Mistaken identity, violence, and the value of diamonds transported increase the tension. Through split screens and enacted fantasies, the visual power of the cinematography offers a glimpse into the characters’ aggressive minds, each driven by personal or political goals. After following the subtle changes of the characters’ emotions and motives, the viewer is left to ponder if individual desire can ever be satisfied.”
