Mad O Level English Tutor Publishes Hitherto Untold Tale of Two Brothers

Mr Lee Lin Cher, the Mad O Level English Tutor, reveals the story of two brothers, and how the fate of one's O Level results can depend on one's understanding of this story.

There is an untold tale of two brothers that an O Level English tutor has kept close to his heart, but a recent blog post published on a hitherto obscure website is set to spill the beans on what can be the secret sauce to exceptional performance at the O Level examinations.

Mr Lee Lin Cher, who calls himself the Mad O Level English Tutor, has set out to reveal a secret that has been in the public eye since the 1970s, and he is adamant that current research - though seemingly inconclusive - points to the validity of his claims, even if he is only providing anecdotal evidence.

In his latest blog post, Lee recounts the story of the two boys he once coached, and how the more "hopeless" one managed to catch up with the academically-stronger older brother, through a simple recommendation that he made to the boy's mother.

His recommendation - though apparently random at first sight - was based on his extensive knowledge garnered as an editor of a health magazine, as well as a BBC Studio documentary that he had chanced upon much earlier.

When questioned about his rather bold claim and the hubris behind it, Lee defends his position by stating that nothing is "entirely definitive", but the research into the topic of discussion with this desperate mum seems to point to plausible benefits that can be observed, even if the data is inconclusive.

"There are tonnes of research done on my recommendation to this distraught mum. In fact, the hype surrounding this topic has been around us since the 1970s, when researchers published a landmark paper in a top medical journal, The Lancet, on July 15, 1978 entitled, “Eicosapentaenoic acid and prevention of thrombosis and atherosclerosis?"

"Research after research, study after study, the subject of this Tale of Two Brothers has demonstrated its benefits not just in cognitive development, but in the overall health of those who embrace them," Lee added.

"I think we should just stop reading and start asking ourselves if we need to consider adopting this recommendation for our teenage children who are going to face the challenge of the O Levels, or for ourselves," Lee exhorts.

Despite his trust and confidence in what he claims to be an "almost indisputable claim", Lee cautions against going too far in any pursuit, and to always exercise discretion in whatever course of action one might undertake.

"Too much of a good thing can be bad. It is always wise to consult a medical professional before embarking on a health or health-related pursuit of any kind."

"And always follow the instructions," Lee concludes.

About the Mad O Level English Tutor Website

The Mad O Level English Tutor website is the brainchild of Mr Lee Lin Cher, an author, ex-secondary school English and Literature teacher, and a current tutor of the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level English at a local chain of tuition centres based in Singapore.

Mad O Level English Tutor aims to be the resource site for students sitting for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level English Examinations, and would provide the necessary tricks and tips to ace the said examinations.

The word “mad” in the site title “Mad O Level English Tutor” is a clear indicator of Mr Lee’s methods in coaching and inspiring students.
