Houston-based CQC Aeronautics is introducing its new AERefinery web-based software platform for airport operational planning.

AERefinery is a flight operations engineering platform designed to help airports explore, evaluate and collaborate on the operational impacts of infrastructure projects, airfield changes, obstacles, navigational aids and environmental conditions.

Built specifically for airport operators, planners, engineers and consultants and backed by CQC’s industry experience, the SaaS (Software as a Service) platform combines aviation data, geospatial analysis, project information and operational intelligence into a single platform that supports more informed and defensible decision-making—all while enabling greater interoperability between airport and airline operations, strengthening coordination, and keeping stakeholders aligned as projects evolve.

“With AERefinery, we’ve captured the critical data variables required for dynamic flight operations engineering decision-making and coupled them with our discipline expertise—the result is an unprecedented collaborative software tool for airports. We allow airports to take a true analysis-driven approach to operations by giving them a single platform to explore their airfield and mindfully model airside alternatives and the potential impacts on aircraft performance and aviation operations,” said Emily Trout, CQC Aeronautics President and CEO.

“CQC’s SaaS is also the first platform to assist airports in sharing information with their stakeholders via PIXM, the Performance Information Exchange Model, creating an unprecedented opportunity for cooperation along the aviation pipeline.”

AERefinery Benefits
AERefinery is built to analyze real variables that shape airport operations, serving as a suite of connected product capabilities instead of a long list of unconnected services. Those capabilities include:

  • Historical Weather Intelligence: Analyze historical temperatures, winds, runway utilization patterns, visibility, precipitation and other environmental factors that influence airport planning and operational decisions.
  • Project Impact Analysis: Evaluate how runway closures, taxiway rehabilitation, NAVAID relocations, construction activities and future development projects may affect airport operations.
  • Obstacle Intelligence: Manage and evaluate existing and proposed obstacles affecting airport operations, protected surfaces and future development initiatives.
  • Airfield Infrastructure Analysis: Assess runway geometry, visual guidance systems, navigational aids and airport infrastructure within a common operating environment.
  • Airport Project Management: Track active and proposed projects, schedules, phasing plans, documentation and operational impacts through a centralized airport dashboard.

“By bringing all of these factors into a single operating environment, we’ve given airports the ability to analyze operational impacts and see multiple benefits in their operations, from better planning to identifying impacts early and reducing project risk,” said Trout. “And because the platform is designed for airport planners and developers as well as operators, it greatly improves coordination across the many teams and stakeholders involved in an airport’s operation.”

Based in Houston, CQC Aeronautics is an aviation technology company that combines flight operations engineering, aviation data and specialized software with proven expertise across U.S. and international airports to provide specialized engineering solutions, risk identification and data analytics software to airports, airlines and regulatory bodies.
